So yesterday someone asked me "how are you?" and of course i said the usual "i'm fine" or something to that effect, but i started to think, "does it really matter?" When i'm old and dying, will it matter how i was on thursday december 29, 2005? or any day for that matter? in the end does anything we do matter? we work our asses off to have a "good" life, or to have lots of money to have lots of stuff that we want and when we die it just moves down the line in our family through inheritance, but why do we even want to have a family to pass it on to? to keep the human race going as the most dominant race? why do we want to be the dominant race? do we really need to find a mate? and why do we spend so much time looking for a mate when most of the people we date we will not remember in the end? so many people look to religion for these answers but religion even involves a certain level of doubt. someone might try to live a good life to better their dharma or get into heaven or get born into another caste in the next life, but we don't even know for a 100% fact that's what is going to happen. in the end does our life really mean anything?
