Yet another incredibly unproductive day, so naturally I had to bake a cake just so I could say I'd done something today. I'd read a recipe using grated beetroot in a chocolate cake, and since I bought some beetroots on Saturday I was all set for that.

I'm bored, and had a major sugar craving tonight, and really no wish to go out into the rain and buy some candy. So instead I made chocolate toffee, and since it turned out really well, I wanted to preserve the recipe somewhere.

It's the annual Swedish Waffle Day.  We also honour my maternal grand-father's death day. It's three years since he passed away now, and he really loved waffles, so all the family tend to say that we eat waffles for grand-dad.
