Some kind of good news for once!

I've actually booked myself a vacation. Yay! I'm going to Oxford for the Barbara Pym Society's AGM, and have managed to get a week off from August 30th until September 7th. I went last year as well, and it's such a wonderfully Pymian experience that I simply can't miss it. Feels like a way to celebrate mum's memory as well, since she was the one that got me to read Barbara Pym in the first place, and we have talked so much about her books. I even started reading Some Tame Gazelle aloud for her at the hospital during her first stay there in January, and the day before she had her last attack in February we read a couple of chapters and just wondered at the greatness of Pym's style. I haven't been able to finish the book since mum died, but I have read No Fond Return of Love twice this summer.  She is one of my comfort authors, that I return to again and again. So Oxford and Pym, and some time on my own sounds like a blessing after this horrible year.

Hopefully I'll be able to take the bus up to London for a day or two as well.  Read
grondfic 's review of Hamlet at the Harold Pinter theatre and it sounds like something I should try to catch. Is there anything else I should look out for?
