Alas I'm freed from New England Comics. At leasts thats what I thought on Thursday. As I knock up that front door for the final time. And then...I'm due to report to work in the Coolidge Corner NEC store on Saturday morning. What the? Suddenly, its like I'm in the Godfather, "Everytime I try to get out, they keep dragging me back in." They just won't let me quit! So here we go, my last day, one more time.
Here's the irony, I know my friend Lindsay for a while, through this company. Yet besides two Anime conventions, we actually never worked together. And here we are, my last day, working together for the first time. L, if you read this, you know I love you, but my #1 choice to work with on my last day would be Benn. Because me and Benn have a long history together, as friends and as co workers. And there's no one I enjoy more than working with him. Good times and great memories, remember? So after a typical boring day (only after Lindsay leaves, as she takes the fun factor out with her), I say good bye to New England Comics after 10+ years AGAIN. And hopefully this is the final time. I'll do my reflections on the NEC subject later this week.
Let's do a little rewind back to Friday. Time to continue my count down tour. As I went to have dinner with Andrew and Nancy (these two are my closest of close friends, so close that I'm their first born's godfather. God! I'm so Italian!). Joe and his fiancee Lil was there. After a delicious dinner of steak tips and mash potatoes, Nancy brought a carrot cake she made special for me (*tears*). After our typical chit chat, we decided to go see "Red Eye." What a fun movie. That Rachel McAdams girl can sure act, very attractive too. I guess she's really the break out star from the "Mean Girls" cast and not that Lohan girl. So it gets my recommendation.
And the ride back home was something else. Nancy was fuming over how Joe and Lil over trying to take on their lives. Damn! That was something else. I've seen Nancy angry before, but I've never seen her this pissed. Granted, this is only Nancy's side of the story. But still, I feel bad. I hope everything works out for them. They've been friends for such a long time. Although I'm a little hurt that Joe didn't pick me as an usher for his wedding. I thought we were at least that close, but I guess I was wrong. Despite my feelings, I hope everything works out.
This is another episode of my Countdown Tour report. To be continued...
