What better way to update my friends on how my tooth extraction went on thursday then through good ol' LJ?
Some of you may or may not know, but I was TERRIFIED TO DEATH! There had been some speculation that the procedure would be difficult because of how much the teeth had already come in and that they were impacted.
I managed to stay relatively calm while my dad and I waited an hour and a half after our appointment for me to go into surgery... turns out that the girl ahead of me wasnt coming out of it. They were having a lot of problems getting her to recover... Having them tell me that before I went in really helped my nerves, let me tell you.
But anyway, the procedure is normally about an hour long, I was in and out in 40 minutes. I was out of recovery ASAP (cause I didnt want to be like the other girl). The Doc said i was a real 'trooper'. The top teeth came out no problem, but they had to saw into my gums and saw the bottom teeth in half to get them out.
Ive been pretty good, aside from a few things... Im allergic to the antibiotic they gave me: it makes my whole body itch. BUT I dont have a rash from it so its not too bad and I only itch about an hour after I take it. Only the bottom part of my jaw really hurts, but it REALLY hurts. My dad has been denying me the heavy pain killers cause he doesnt want me 'hooked' ... My mom on the other hand rolls her eyes and gives them to me anyway. I keep asking her to Keep dad away from me.
The one real problem we've run into is that I grind my teeth at night, and since I cant wear my retainers, I have no protection for my teeth... In other words, I wasnt given percocet last night before bed and I woke up at 3 screaming, with blood all over my face... tonight Im sleeping with gauze in my mouth to remedy the problem---hopefully.
I think thats all.
For Everyone Who Cares Anywho
Later!
