TKO'd on Boxing Day

Home. Am now dead. Send cookies stat.

I literally shopped 'til I dropped today. I slept until 10 and left the house around 11:30, with stops at the bank (deposit checks for Chris), my mom's (to exchange a shirt I got for her), Target (where all the good wrapping paper had been picked through already...poop), the mall (more on that below), and the post office (to check the PO Box and to mail a couple of things).

I made an itemized, organized list last night to make sure I hit all the places I needed to. It helped. It doesn't change the fact I feel near death right now.

My mall excursion, in order of visitation:
-Eddie Bauer: they're closing? WTF? I read about it in Bob Niedt's column but didn't think it was real. I exchanged the shirt for my mom (of course they didn't have what I bought her so I bought her something else) and grabbed a black turtleneck sweater for me (I bought the same one a few years ago and I love it and it's starting to show signs of wear so now I have backup for when the first one totally fades out).
-Ann Taylor: return the sweater my in-laws bought me for a shirt (in China Berry Red) that I loved in the store but didn't love when I got home. Oh well. It's not like I won't use the credit or anything.
-Gap: bought a pair of jeans (that I'm going to return...see below), a matching hat and scarf set and a pair of light gray fleece gloves to go with them. I'm going to return the scarf because even wrapped around my neck a couple of times, it still comes out the bottom of my new jacket. Oh well. The hat is cute - it's a light gray beanie with big ivory polka dots. That and the gloves were very on sale.
-Ann Taylor Loft: I found these jeans which I ended up liking more than the Gap jeans (I wanted a pair of dark rinse jeans and these don't make me look as "hippy" as the others and look a bit classier) and a brown deep cowl neck sweater that I didn't think I'd like until I tried it on.
-Borders: had a coupon for buy two books at regular price and get the third free. I picked up Son of a Witch, Piano Girl, and The Best Game You Can Name. I also nabbed a desktop Far Side calendar.
-Bath and Body Works: body splash and lotion ($5!) in Exotic Coconut.
-DSW: a pair of black ballet flats - they were in the clearance aisle at 30% off and then today they were an extra 30% off - I got them for less than $20.

I came home and sat on the couch and put my head down and it felt wonderful. I think I sat down twice the entire time - once to reorganize my bags and the other to talk to my mom when she called while I was in Borders. I had one egg nog latte and that was it. I was fueled on pure adrenaline (or my need to get done with everything ASAP). I'm now watching the Sabres treat the Caps to a good ol' fashioned ass-whupping. I love the holidays. :)
