I am not on call tonight. I wasn't on call yesterday, either. I was on call on Monday. When another floor calls you to ask you who they need to call to let them know a post-op has arrived, do not give them my pager number. Please give them the number of THE INTERN ACTUALLY ON CALL. Kthx.

Today was crazy busy and I'm dog tired. But it's a good tired. I much prefer to be busy and working hard and getting shit done over the fucking lame-o clinic. Grand rounds today totally sucked. It was given by one of the adult dermatologist and it was to be on lasers in pediatric dermatology. I was thinking I'd see some cool skin conditions or rashes. Nope. He spent 40 minutes talking about laser physics. I got up halfway through and left. I have more important shit to do.
I went to my parents' for dinner tonight. They already got their tree - I hope it lasts until Christmas! My dad put the lights out front and they look great. I'm still on the fence about putting up our tree. My mom's procedure went well yesterday. She has a 6-cm incision on her left upper back. I took down the dressing and changed it when I was there tonight and it looks good so far.
It was 55 degrees when I left for work at 6:30 this morning. It's November, right? Cripes.
I think I'm going to sit on my couch, something I haven't done in days.
