fuck bar culture

If I was strong enough to follow through on my desire to stop drinking completely, I would.  But as soon as I say that, I'll have a beer in my hand next time I'm out with friends.
I am stuck in a backwards game where no one gives a fuck if you don't want to play.
RANT:

1. What is the point of bars?  "Yeah I want to go into a loud fucking place where I can't have a conversation with anyone due to the noise and the fact that alcohol leads to terrible conversations"
2.  Obviously the point is to find a potential mate, and if you already have a mate, why the fuck don't you just fo drink at home?  It's cheaper and you don't have to deal with anyone's crap.  If you have nowhere else that you can make new friends, then you need to go home and focus on getting a LIFE or a fucking productive hobby!
3.  Can you SERIOUSLY find a potential "mate" at a bar?  A good conversation at a bar would likely last 15 mintues top due to the noise and numerous distractions and how much can you know about someone in 15 minutes?  If you decide to take it somewhere quieter, it might lead to a potential mistake aka sleeping with a stranger.  If you take it somewhere quieter and don't make a mistake, and take it slow - congrats, I think you won the backwards game at this point.
4.  You you decide to make a mistake with a stranger.  You GO INTO THIS knowinf DAMN WELL that it's a mistake, but the magical thing about it is that EVERYONE'S doing it!!!!!!!!!  So you can tell yourself beforehand 'I can pass this off as a mistake afterwards - yes!!' or 'I wanna hook up!' Jesus why is "hooking up" even a verb?  It's such an embaressing act, why would anyone want to utter the words? ANYWAY...you go into this saying "I can do this because everyone else my age is doing it and later when I SOMEHOW find a serious lover . . .I can easily say, 'Yeah I made a few mistake in my younger years' and it doesn't matter!!".  Fuck!! but it sickens me that people follow through on prematurely determined mistakes.
5.  Because I avoid these mistakes, I judge others by their choices.
6. Where does this leave me?? It leaves me lonely.  It leaves me "holding out" for some mystery man that could likely never come along.  It leaves me disenchanted with society.  It leaves me already judging the next one who comes along and tells me he made "mistakes".  It's like...no you didn't.  You knew what you were doing.  I'f I'm "smart" enough to just walk away from a stupid situation like that, you could do it too.
7. FML

later.
