Vegas Baby!

Well, we had a good Easter weekend in Vegas. :)

We flew in after work on friday, and our plane was running a little late, so we were off to a delayed start. Something about the plane being in a hanger... not sure what that was about, but we did make it safely. I just assumed they had to add on some extra falangies(sp). Once we got to Vegas, we got a shuttle ticket, which we determined was a bad idea. The shuttle itself wasn't too bad, but we stood outside for about 20-25 minutes waiting for it, then our hotel was the last stop. We bought a round trip ticket, but just took a cab back to the airport. Lesson learned, don't go with the shuttle, unless you're one person, and not on a schedule. :)

Once we got to the hotel, check in was quick, then up to our nice room. We stayed in Caesars Palace, in the Forum Tower. The room was really nice. It was a king bed, there was a jacuzzi tub in the room itself, with a pair of shutters that opened up to the bathroom. Very interesting, but cool. :) The bathroom had an in-wall sliding door to the WC, and a tiny door to the shower. It also had a second sink that was the mini-sink. :) Also the bed wasn't bad. Sharon said it was a little uncomfortable, but I didn't notice.

After we checked in, we got up with Randy and Cindy to meet them. For those who don't know, I worked with Randy for about 6 years before I moved to Arizona. They were wandering around Caesars waiting for us, so we met them downstairs and looked for a place to have some food and drinks. We ended up in the bar side/lounge of the Mesa Grill. We had some drinks, and appetizers. We had to get our order in quickly cause the kitchen was about to close. :) After that, we wandered around some, and ended up outside at the bar and got some frozen drinks. By the time we got done with all that, it was fairly late, so we turned in for the night.

The next day, we got up early, got some quick breakfast at a small cafe, and did a lot of walking. We played some Megabucks and won $120 each, so we figured that was a good start. So we found a shoe store, and I got some good new walking shoes that would help me survive the weekend. :) After getting around to the Venican, we called up Randy to see what they were doing. We figured Jason and Eric had gotten in by then, and we were ready for lunch. :) We met them at the Flamingo, where they were all staying, and tried to figure out what to do for lunch. We ended up going over to Caesars and eating at Spaggo. The food was quite good! After lunch, we started wandering some more. Sharon and I talked everyone into doing our Megabucks thing, where everyone puts in $20, and we all take turns "spinning." We kept doubling our money. Jason was fairly skeptical in the beginning....but he came around after we started winning. ;) So we wandered around to different casinos in search of Megabucks machines. :) Eventually it came time to get some dinner, after much debate, and wandering around, we ended up at a Sushi place in Caesars. I can't remember the name, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out if you really wanna know. :) The food was quite good. Of notable stuff, Jason ate Nemo, and Eric wouldn't let Jason by Randy the live squid. :)

After dinner, Sharon and I decided we had walked around for 12 hours straight, and were tired. :) Also my back was starting to really hurt. (still is right now) So we headed back to our room, and along the way we stopped at Victoria Secrets to get some bubble bath. :) Personally I could have done with out the bubbles in the jacuzzi tub. ;) I just wanted to relax in some hot water to try to help my back. :)

Sunday morning, we got up around 8ish, packed up, checked out, and met everyone at the brunch buffet in the Bellagio. We wanted to get there early on Easter Sunday. ;) We got there about 8:30 or so, and it was the perfect time. We hardly had to wait to get in, but when we left after eating ALOT, at about 10ish, the line was significantly longer! So another lesson learned, go to the buffet early. ;)

After the buffet, Erin and Cindy went to soak in some water and sun at the pool, while the rest of us went and played some blackjack. Everyone else did pretty good...I, however, didn't do as well. :) I think I lost it all so they could gain it. :) But it was fun, and neither Randy nor Jason had played Blackjack before, so we were teaching them. Like we kept having to tell them they MUST signal with their hands what they wanted to do. :) They seemed to like it, and were kinda interested in going back again. After our gambling adventures, we headed south on the strip. Our first stop was the M&M shop, and also the Coca-Cola shop next to it. Once we got done that, we decided on a new course of action. We continued south to Mandalay Bay. The aquarium down there was pretty cool. I've got some pictures below of it, although not all of them turned out great, cause the darkness and glass. Of course, some of the sharks are pretty cool because of the flash. The term "sharks with freakin laser beams..." comes to mind. :)

After that, we headed back north to meet up with the girls and Erin's parents and grab some dinner or something before Sharon and I had to head to the airport. We were walking across the bridge between Belagio and Caesars, and Randy was talking to Cindy on the phone talking about how we were going to miss them, when I heard Cindy's voice...in real life. So I spun and hollered her name. :) It was sooo weird. :) We had a couple ideas for dinner, and ended up at the Cheesecake Factory. They always have good food, and it really was just what we wanted. Sharon and I had to leave them there and head off. But we did get to finish dinner first. :) Then we grabbed our bags from the Bell Hop and hopped in a taxi for the airport. The flight was fairly uneventful, and made it home safely.

Sharon picked up the dog this morning. I think she was mad at us for leaving her. :) I'm sure she'll get over it. ;)

Pictures Mostly of the Aquarium.
