Yesterday we got our first rain in 143 days! It rained all day, and it was nice to have rain, but it rained on our parade, so we couldn't take the Hound dog for her St. Patty's day Basset Waddle parade. Sharon bought a hat for her and everything. :)
Today, we got up, got ready, and headed out for some bagels. After breakfast, we headed down to check out the new house. Along the way, we noticed that the mountains in the background were covered with snow. :) Its a pretty cool sight. :) It might still be there for you to see
tamnonlinear. ;) Check it out at:
http://www.geekmeat.net/photo/mount-200602/ After that, we had some trouble getting to the house. Half the roads were closed because of construction, the other half were closed because of flooding I think. So it was a bit difficult getting down there. We finally found one way down, and the house is coming along nicely. Not too much more done, just a little insulation in the ceiling, and still fixing some frame work.
From there, we headed over to Chandler to the
Ostrich Festival. Apparently parking was a little more difficult than initially expected, but we finally got parked, and didn't get fully stuck in the mud. ;) It was quite interesting. There really aren't too many words for it. I did have an Ostrich burger for lunch, we saw some races, and I road a mechanical bull. You can see pictures and a couple movies at:
http://www.geekmeat.net/photo/ostrich-2006/ After we got done with that, we came home and bottled up out
Hefe that we've been brewing. We added some cherry syrup to 6 bottles and then filled them up. So we'll see how those turn out. :) Now we just have to wait about a week. But we sampled a little bit and it tasted pretty good, just lacking carbonation. So in a week it should be pretty good. :) Put a couple more pictures up on the
Beer page.
Since it seems that no one else is coming next weekend. *pout* Abby and us will have plenty of beer. ;)
