that's a wrap
i unexpectedly had another longer-than-usual weekend as a cold/infection has been making it's way through our office. i went home feeling bad friday afternoon, didn't go in on monday, and went home early yesterday. only today am i starting to feel better. i didn't take any of my medicines, either, because though they mask my cough they make me feel dizzy which is not awesome. i'd rather have the cough attacks at this point.
plus, it rained from thursday night to monday morning. real, steady, rain. it brought a cold front that has it feeling like fall/winter (it was 26 this morning on my drive to work!). honestly, we didn't do much but we did manage to go to the mall three times. once to exchange andy's new jeans for a shirt, the second time because they forgot to remove the sensor from the shirt, and the third to ask questions at the apple store about upgrading to lion in order to run "the cloud." i have a mobileme account but my laptop is several operating systems behind. thus, we're going to upgrade the imac instead. that way it'll sync with (andy's birthday) the new apple tv and we can play all of our movies from the cloud. plus, we're going to stop buying dvds and go completely digital. starting first with hangover pt. 2 for andy's stocking. we also chose a child off the "tree" in our apartment complex - an 8 year old boy who wanted transformers, a hoodie, and art supplies. we got him a couple of transformers from target, a zip-up hoodie from the gap, and some colored pencils and a sketch pad from michael's.
with that we've finished christmas shopping! we have one more gift to buy but it'll be a completely utilitarian process. yay! in the past i have felt so rushed with separating andy's birthday (10 days before) from christmas but this year i have managed just fine and plenty early.
