it's no secret that i don't care for summer... and i hate august. august is my least favorite month of the year, in fact. i'm trying to think of a positive thing about it and i cannot. :) even though i made every attempt possible to not hate summer, after 70+ days of 100+ degrees of heat i am tired of it. other than swimming at 7:30am on weekends (because it's the only not too hot time there was) there was not much else to enjoy. it's too hot to do anything other than go to the grocery on the weekend and nap the rest of the day to recoup. summer is also sooo long. whereas, fall is awesome. fall has a crispness that comes into the air in october. although the calendar year is from jan-dec the year feels more like sept-may to me. i suppose this comes from years of conditioning from school.
things i want to do during fall:
(please excuse my less-than-lofty-goals)
1. eat something infused with pumpkin - i hear this is good, but i've never tried it myself.
2. drink peppermint hot chocolate - must remember non-fat milk so it doesn't make me sick
3. make a soup from scratch - i like can soup, but i am sensitive to the salt content that seems copious
we are going to visit some of my family this weekend, we haven't been there since last september. i cannot believe we've been here almost a year! plus, for the first time since 2006, i am not moving this fall. hooray! we are staying in the same place because we like our place, the location is great, and the rent only went up $3 a month. yay no packing!
i have now not purchased clothes since august 20th. i didn't realize it until just now. i've already racked up some savings for my premier november "mini spree" and i am feeling confident i will make it. not looking at shopping sites can be difficult, but cutting off all eblasts makes it a lot easier. i am trying to avoid the sales notices, too, so i might have to unfriend some brands on facebook that prove to be too much temptation.
kinda boring?,
