I haven't posted here in a while haven't I? Well, I'm posting now about a topic most of you don't give two shits about so I guess that's not great, eh?
One of my favourite game series ever is Football Manager. In the latest version (Football Manager 2011 FYI) They added the ability to have "private chats" with your players about various topics. I usually use it to praise them after a good match or ask them if they know any good players we should sign.
When you first arrive at a club they address you like this:
But after spending a lot of time with your players and gaining their trust and respect they address you like this:
This may not seem to be a big deal but for me, this is how videogames should increase their immersion. Little details like that, not huge theories about machine-human interaction and cinematography that some pretentious shit like David Cage spout about all the damn time.
