"You have a sister?" Pete asked, clearly surprised.
"Yeah. After Julie and Meghan got bitten, I left home- if you could call it that. My parents died when I was very young, and so I grew up taking care of my sister. We're the same age- hell, we're twins- but she was careless and I needed to protect her. I was really reluctant to leave, but then a friend explained that she was 20 years old and needed to learn how to take care of herself. I left and never looked back." She explained, looking down as the last words escaped her lips.
By this time, Hayley had retreated back to her room, the bane (sorry, I've really got to stop with these puns) of her existence now gone.
Sisky watched the werewolf close her door with worried eyes, knowing the weight of her friend's betrayal must be heavy on her heart.
"Pete, I'm gonna take Vicky upstairs, alright?" Gabe asked, heading toward the stairs with his slowly calming mate.
"Yeah. Yeah, go ahead. We'll see you tonight." (A/N: Remember, it's like 7 a.m.)
"I think everyone with fangs should head up to bed. The sun'll be up really soon." Andy suggested, looking around at the vampires.
"Good idea. G'night- er, morning." Julie said, heading up the stairs.
"Yeah. Later guys." Andy followed right after.
"I think I'm gonna head to sleep too. I miss my bed." Patrick whined.
"Yeah, me too. It's more comfortable than mine anyway."
Rebecca gaped at her friend as Beth smiled cheekily.
Pete merely laughed and shook his head, knowing it was bound to happen sometime.
"It figures the brink of war would bring people together." Gerard said, watching the girl and werewolf retreat to Patrick's room.
"Well what do you expect? The possibility of death makes people want to live life to its fullest, and in my opinion, life isn't complete without love." Rebecca said, trying not to look over at Pete.
"Very true. But what if the love someone has for another has to be hidden? Then it's almost self-destructive." Mikey pointed out, doing his best to sound nonchalant.
Gerard cast a curious glance at his younger brother, wondering what he could possibly know of the subject.
"Enough of this philosophical shit. Show me where I'm sleeping so I can go to bed." Jeff demanded.
Pierre glared at his friend.
"I'm sorry about him. He gets pissy when- actually, he's always pissy." He said with a smile. "I'm Pierre."
Pete smiled as well and shook his offered hand.
"Pete."
"I'm Rebecca. You're Generation, aren't you?"
"Yes, we are. I'm Sébastien, but everyone calls me Seb. This here is David, over there is Chuck, and this asshole is Jeff, who I also apologize for."
"No need. We've dealt with worse than him, trust me." Rebecca assured.
"There's plenty of room here. We've made sure we'd have room for any allies of ours, and I'm sure you guys count. Any room with the door open is free." Pete said, nodding his head towards the stairs as an invitation.
Pierre sent him a grateful smile, and the five headed upstairs, anxious to have a bed to sleep in, instead of the floor of the dungeon.
Frank and Mikey were the next to go up, followed soon after by Ray and then Bob.
"I guess I'll see you guys later on tonight, then." Gerard said, noticing the light streaming through the curtains.
"Yeah, man. 'night." Pete said, silently thankful to be alone with Rebecca.
After watching the vampire climb the stairs, Rebecca turned to Pete.
"So... what were you saying earlier?" She asked, trying not to seem as excited as she really was.
"Well, I-"
'Come on, Pete.' He scolded himself.
"I just- I wanted to know if, maybe, you'd want-"
Rebecca, hoping to ease his embarrassment, pressed her lips against his quickly.
When she pulled back, he had a goofy smile on his face which caused her to laugh lightly.
"I don't know how I'm supposed to finish a sentence when you keep doing that." He pointed out, fixing Rebecca with a fake scolding look.
~At the Dandy Mansion~ (Beckett's Chambers)
"You're sure of this?" He asked, his voice slightly concerned.
"Positive, sir. All five members of Sweet Revenge." Mike confirmed.
"And Sisky has really switched sides?"
"He has, sir." Jeremy answered, noticing Mike's state.
Mike was visibly distraught on this note.
Just the thought his best friend would turn on them made him rethink everything he'd ever known.
'If Sisky thinks the Dandies are wrong, maybe they are.' One part of his brain reasoned.
'William would never do that to me.' Another put in.
'You're the one who begged to be turned. He probably wouldn't have even associated himself with you if you hadn't.'
"Mike?" A voice asked.
He shook his head lightly and looked to the voice, seeing that it was Jeremy who had called him.
"You alright?"
"Yeah. I- I think I'm gonna go to bed." He replied, leaving the room without Beckett's dismissal.
"I'm so sorry, sir. He's really broken up about Sisky. If I have your permission, I'd like to check on him."
"Of course." William said. "All of you are dismissed." He finished with a sigh.
He had no knowledge of Revenge being anywhere in the area, and Generation escaping couldn't have been an accident, meaning someone had betrayed him.
"Sir?"
William raised his head and saw that Travis hadn't left like the others.
"Yes?"
"I have some information that might be useful to you."
The other vampire perked up at this, gesturing for Travis to sit down opposite him.
"Please continue."
"When we were over at Wentz' place, I noticed something that could greatly benefit us."
William said nothing, waiting for him to proceed.
"The leader of Revenge- Gerard, I think his name is- seemed overly protective of Rebecca. I made a comment on it, and when Pete showed up a second later, he was radiating hate that wasn't entirely placed toward us."
"Your point?" Beckett sighed.
He didn't have time for ridiculous theories.
"I think Gerard wants Rebecca for himself."
That sentence changed everything.
A grin made its way onto Beckett's face; a plan already drawing itself out in his head.
"Interesting..."
~2nd Floor of the Hideout~
Andy shot up in bed, words said hours before finally sinking in.
He immediately left his room, hoping that someone else was awake.
As he walked through the hallway, the soft sound of someone crying and trying to hide it met his ears.
He noticed the noise was coming from what they referred to as "The Sun Room", showing that the person was obviously not a vampire.
Pushing the door open silently, he was met with the sight of one of his best friends on the floor in tears.
"Patrick!"
Andy ran to his friend, desperately trying to figure out what was wrong.
"Are you thinking about what he said too?" Patrick asked, knowing the other werewolf would have no idea what he meant.
"What are you talking about Patrick?"
"Synyster Gates. What he said this morning."
Andy's blood ran cold as he realized that's exactly what he had been thinking about.
"Yes. What did he mean?"
Patrick made no move to answer him, content with staring at the floor.
"Patrick, look at me." Andy demanded, getting nervous.
The younger werewolf raised his eyes slowly, eventually meeting Andy's.
"Where's Joe?"
Patrick's lip quivered as he held tightly to the tears just behind his eyes.
"He's dead." He whimpered.
Andy sat completely frozen, unable to process what he had just been told.
"What?" He breathed.
"He's- he's dead! Beckett killed him."
Andy's mind went completely black; all thoughts ceased to exist.
Joe was... dead?
Nothing seemed to make sense anymore, and his vision swam.
"Andy? Andy!"
~First Floor of the Hideout~
There was a loud 'thump' and the sound of someone shouting.
"Someone help! Hurry!"
"That's Patrick!" Rebecca exclaimed, running to the stairs.
Pete followed closely, praying to every divinity he'd ever heard of that his best friend was alright.
"Patrick? Patrick! Where are you?" She called, looking into every open room.
"In the Sun Room!" He yelled back, sounding hysterical.
"You'll have to stay out here, Pete." Rebecca stated, turning to the vampire.
"Alright. Just go find out what's wrong!" Pete insisted, worry seeping into his voice.
Rebecca shot him a comforting look and pushed open the thick black door between the hallway and the sunroom.
The first thing she saw was Patrick on his knees hunched over something on the ground.
As she got closer, the shape became recognizable as a human.
"Andy!"
She ran to kneel beside Patrick, wanting desperately to check for a pulse, but knowing werewolves, as well as vampires, didn't have them.
"What happened, Trick?" Rebecca asked frantically.
"I told him about Joe and he just sort of... fell over.”
She breathed a sigh of relief as she realized Andy’s brain had just overloaded and made him pass out.
“Come along. Let’s get him into his room. He’ll need to sleep this off.”
Patrick looked at her like she was crazy.
“Why aren’t you freaking out?!”
“I think the real question is, ‘why are you?’ He’s just passed out. I’ll bet he was tired to begin with, and you telling him such terrible news just overloaded his mind. No big deal.”
His face instantly relaxed.
“Oh. Alright. You head back to your room. I’ll take care of him.”
“Okay. Goodnight, Trick.”
“G’night, Rebecca.”
