OOC: How Luke's Diner works
Luke
Okay - so Luke is essentially an NPC character. There are four of us who write him regularly - msgilmoredanes, rory__gilmore, ___lily__evans_ and iwasawesome. There are also a few people who occasionally pinch hit for various story lines, particularly if he's interacting with Lorelai and/or Rory so we don't have to talk to ourselves.
Luke doesn't have IC voicemail and there are no email notifications set up for the account because there are a few of us who write him. If you need Luke for a plot or want to do something in the diner, you can ping one of the four people listed above. [no more blowing it up though -- *glares at Logan & Angel*]
We do try to keep track of who he's interacted with, etc, but given the nature of his business, he runs across a lot of people. He obviously knows Marty & Jaye very well... everyone else is a crapshoot. If, however, you have interacted with Luke in the past and a different Luke doesn't seem aware, feel free to let us know OOCly so we can adjust.
The Diner
The diner is open every day from 6am-10pm FHT, unless otherwise noted. Anyone can open a diner post. If one of us puts up a post as Luke, we will try to note if we are available for interaction (sometimes we put it up for our other characters and we don't want the email notifications -- we can do that for you, too, if you ask).
Please do not mod Luke (unless you've been given permission by one of us to do so). You may, however, mod NPC servers.
He serves typical diner fare - breakfast is always available. Luke is a bit of a health nut canonically, so there are vegetarian options and some salad type dishes available. He also tends to be grumpy canonically, so if he's snippy or grouchy with you, it's nothing personal, just his usual behavior.
If you have a character that is looking for a part time job, let one of us know. Luke can definitely hire some folks. And if you want to use the diner for some big plotty thing, let us know that, too.
The Apartment above the Diner
Is where Weevil lives with Veronica's dog Backup. It's obviously considered a private residence and no one can say they were there without permission from Weevil. [Except, of course, Veronica, cause she has a key.]
