Bronch-ice-tis

Dec 26, 2010 10:24

Have been MIA due to the winter lurg. Had barely recovered from an episode of laryngitis and sinusitis, when a cough came a'caughling ;). Then the 'flu, then bronchitis...which is now.

So, update for December :-

1) Saw Osteopath about hip & back pain, turns out my spine is not very bendy. :-/ He gave me a tennis ball to sit on...don't ask!

2) My mother went to her Great Grandson's christening and collapsed whilst on a shopping trip. Turned out to be a slow heart beat issue. She seems to be doing okay with a change of meds.

3) I spoke with the Occupational Health - who, shockingly, are unsurprised by my feelings of panic and being unsupported at work. Seems a lot of folk feel the same way and they are in more 'supported' roles. Hah! I did a shift shadowing a colleague and although it went well, feel no better about the system to which I propose to return to.

4) It snowed here...there...and everywhere! The UK is totally unprepared to deal with more than a few inches of snow and various parts of the country have had between at least 8 to 20 inches - or 20 to 50 cms, as we are fully metric ;) - and the temperature has rarely gotten above freezing for 2 weeks. Last night, where I live, it was - 12 oC and I have ice INSIDE my bedroom and bathroom windows. Meep! But, t-shirt weather, 1 to 3 oC is set to return tuesday. LOL!

5) 2 weeks ago a dear friend of mine moved - and took his mommy and daddy with him. Yes, Thomas has left me for pastures new...literally. He has moved out to the country and is now a cat with a flap, a home and a bed. I'm happy for him, but miss him terribly. Here is my final 'letting me pet and letting him out' scene

and goodbye...

Christmas day was a quiet affair, apart from the coughing, just me and mum, but we had a lovely roast beef and traditional christmas pudding to follow.

I hope all my friends had a good christmas, that they were safe and warm and happy.

PS - in the photos, please concentrate on the cat and my shiny hair, not my hugus assus!

Here's to 2011! Cheers!
