English dub Spirited Away

First off, I wanted to say that I'm all for anime be it dubbed or subbed. Personally, I prefer subtitled with the Japanese audio, but I will watch and enjoy it any way. I had heard from quite a few people who share this opinion that the Spirited Away dub was excellent and at least on par with the japanese audio. I bought the dvd a while ago and watched it by myself in Japanese. I LOVED IT. However, I watched the english dub with my family a few days ago and I was really disappointed. The voices were so (for lack of a better word) Disneyish. Lin was a mall chick, Haku was your basic Aladdin/(insert disney guy hero here), and the wording just didn't seem to carry the connotations of the subtitles. The feeling was a bit bland as well with emphasis on wrong words in the sentence. It was a step up from most dubs, but I was personally disappointed with the quality when everyone said it was so good. Again, I'm not trying to start a sub vs dub fight (enough of those! we're all about the same thing) just wanted to share my disappointment.
