Title: Our Unique Love Story
Rating: PG 13
Pairing: Kyuhyun/girl!Sungmin
Genre: Romance, Fantasy
Summary: Kyuhyun is the transfer student. Sungmin is the prefect. It starts like any love story and ends like one but the process, not so much. It is unique after all.

It was back to the usual routine for Sungmin the only difference is she’s no longer Kyuhyun’s pretend girlfriend. She’s his real girlfriend now.

The prefects are unusually busy since sports week is coming up. Sungmin stares at the load of papers on desk and reluctantly grabs the first one off the pile. Complaints, complaints and more complaints. As she expected, with the upcoming sports week students are complaining about everything.

But they’re the ones who have the most fun when sports week arrives. Ironic right? She reads each complaint and thinks of solutions but hey, you can’t have the best of both worlds. As she sits and flips through file after file, a pair of hands cover her eyes and a low voice whispers into her ears, “Guess who?”

The loud screams in the background gave him away, not that anyone else would have done something as ridiculous as this. “What do you want Kyuhyun?” “That’s no way to treat your boyfriend.” He grinned and let go of her.

“Sorry. But I’m kind of busy right now.” “Maybe I can help.” They sat around the small wooden table and looked for solutions with the group of screaming fan girls and some boys, screaming their hearts out and squashing their faces against the glass. If you’re wondering why the fan girls and boys are actually congratulating them instead of trying to attack them, well no one knows.

They just decided attacking them wasn’t fun anymore and decided to cheer for them instead, weird.

It was dark when they finally cleared the last file, the fan girls and boys have already left long ago. Sungmin slammed the file onto the table triumphantly and let out a sigh of relief. Kyuhyun got up and grabbed his bag, “Let’s go.” Sungmin nodded.

Sungmin stood up, stumbled a little and fell, almost. “I think I sat still for a little too long.” She grinned sheepishly at Kyuhyun who was supporting her. Sungmin had to admit that he looked very good, hot even.

The fire alarm interrupted her thoughts. Wait a second… fire alarm? Soon the temperature began to rise (not because they were so close to each other… who am I kidding), smoke began to infiltrate the room and they could see faint orange flames dancing around them.

Having taken emergency situation training (what the hell?) before, Sungmin pulled Kyuhyun to the floor since they’ll breathe in less smoke, or something like that as Sungmin recalls. Strangely enough, neither of the two were experiencing any breathing difficulties.

“There is a fire, right?” Sungmin asks and Kyuhyun shrugs. The fire spreads to the cabinets and Sungmin closes her eyes, mentally preparing to hear the Head Prefect’s screams the following morning.

The fire passes the cabinets and… none of them caught fire? Sungmin and Kyuhyun weren’t that surprised; after all they have been to Cherry Pop Fantasia Land and survived.

A white butterfly enters and transforms into a fairy. “Stop fighting you two. Or else we’ll send you into the refrigerator!” Upon hearing those words, the flames stopped moving. Sungmin and Kyuhyun looked closer, turns out those ‘flames’ were a pair phoenixes fighting each other.

“Cherry Pop Fantasia Land and now phoenixes? Can’t I have a normal life?”

“You and me both.”

A blinding flash and a loud shriek later neither the phoenixes nor the fairy were to be seen. Kyuhyun and Sungmin looked at each other before shrugging it off.

“Come on let’s go. I’ll walk you home since it’s late.” “Ok.” Sungmin grabs her bag and they leave the school. The walk to Sungmin’s home was peaceful, with occasional jokes and the cool autumn wind playing with their hair.

“Oh, here we are.” Sungmin said a little disappointed. “Too bad. See you tomorrow then.” He leaned down to kiss her but the door flew open.

“Sungmin are you ok? Why are you so lat- oh hi there.” “Mum…”Sungmin groaned. “Come in, come in.” She gestured for Kyuhyun to come inside.

“Oh by the way Sungmin, your cousin came by today and gave you some CDs. I left them on your bed, go check if they’re the right ones or so your cousin says.” “Ok.” And Sungmin dashes up the flight of stairs, she must really have anticipated this moment.

“So… what’s your name?” Sungmin’s mom asks as all mothers would while taking a sip of her coffee. “I’m Cho Kyuhyun.” Her eyes widen and she nearly spits out all her coffee. “Cho?” She repeats. “Yes mdm.”

“Get out of my house!” She bangs her cup of coffee onto the glass table and starts pushing him. “Get out! Get out!” She repeats as she pushes a bewildered Kyuhyun out of the front door. “And don’t ever come back!” She screams and slams the door.

Sungmin heard the commotion from her room ran down to see Kyuhyun being pushed out of the door. “What’s going on mum?” Her enraged mother turned towards her, scaring her. She has never seen her mother this mad.

“You are not allowed to see that Cho kid ever again.” She screamed and stomped off to her room leaving a frightened and dazed Sungmin standing on the stairs.

A/N: This is pretty much a short and boring filler chapter, only the last part is important. Fighting phoenixes, I’ve really lost it now. So things will be less crack-ish and more angsty from now on. Comments are appreciated.
