So, I'm adopting a dog.  Yup, believe it, Tory agreed to it.  I'm sure both him and wiley will get over it eventually.  Basically, i went to google, and typed in high kill animal shelters (because both my aunt and my cousin adopted from one).  I searched the first one that came up (Pitt County animal shelter), and found Isobel.  Isobel was a young shepherd/husky mix, who was just adorable.  Tory agreed that she was adorable, and suggested that if i was serious, i should look into it.  The shelter said they don't do any transportation, so that would mean a 13 hr drive for a dog i've never met.  But then my aunt and cousin told me about this volunteer group that worked for the shelter they adopted from, and transported the dogs up north.  I figured the odds that they were anywhere near eachother was slim.  But mapquest said they were 53 minutes apart.  I contacted Laura on saturday night, and she emailed me like 15 times by sunday morning.  Yesterday Laura's shelter went and picked up Isobel, and gave her a bath.  Then today they brought her to the vet, where she got all her shots, some medication for kennel cough, and got spayed.  She is also heartworm negative, which is a relief.  Now she gets to stay with one of the volunteers for two days.  Then she gets to spend the weekend in the car.  And on Sunday afternoon, I get to pick her up in Auburn, MA.  And bring her home.  I've already gotten permission to take her to work until she gets used to her new living situation.  Here's my new baby.  And a new pic from today.
