Less than a month now until the
Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival! It has crept right up on me this year with the Homespun Yarn Party getting most of my attention until recently. I'm definitely going both days, though I may not be quite as busy as last year.
I'm going to try to volunteer for the fleece show and sale again, though I haven't heard anything from the organizers yet. Ravelry is not having a big Saturday night party this year, which makes me sad because they did one at Rhinebeck and we're bigger (and better IMO)... I know cost was a factor last year but I think they probably could have found a cheaper venue. There will be daytime meetups though. No details when, where, or what yet but keep an eye on the
Ravelry Maryland Sheep & Wool group. There's also a RR meetup and possible Helper dinner and I think Mia's planning a picnic and the Sanguine Gryphon Retreat folks will be around one day... so maybe I *will* be as busy as last year. Not to mention that I'll be hosting the visiting Helpers this year (at least 5 extras in my tiny little apartment). Whee! I'm excited about seeing everyone again.
I am still officially full-time-job-less so my shopping budget will be tiny. I'm helped a bit by the fact that I didn't get a chance to spend too much at the Yarn Party. First stop will be the
Cloverhill booth - 23 indies this year, several of which are my friends :) and HYP vendors. I'm definitely going to be looking at wheels again, though I'm getting my Babe repaired today (Huzzah) and I'm fairly certain I have my heart set on a Lendrum, but it can't hurt to try more. I might attend the auction if the timing works out as I'd love to get a set of hand cards but they are very pricey retail. I'll also be hitting the Fold for some STR but I'm not going to wait in the enormous opening line, I don't want it that badly and I'm only looking for a few colors. Bringing the camera with extra batteries for sheep petting and sheepdog demos.
Who else is going?
