It occurs to me I should write this down before it is lost to the vagaries of my memory.

Theo was left in a box with fifty euros and his two siblings outside a tiny rescue project, Little Friends, run by a couple of people on the Greek island of Lefkada.   He was about one week old, and probably bred for hunting.  Possibly the owner took the pup(s ( Read more... )

There was a change to the law recently which said that all dogs in the UK must be microchipped, and that the microchip record must contain the details of the current owner.  This came as a nasty surprise to the many dog rescues which had been keeping all the dogs they rehomed, microchipped with their own details, and consequently had thousands of ( Read more... )

The rescue that both Mollydog and Brythen came from,  Greyhound Rescue West of England, wanted to do a video for the end of the year, and I volunteered to help pull it together and sort out the captions and things.  It's just happy ever afters really.   You may recognise the cover gentleman. :-)

Oldies Club, and indeed most small dog rescues, has liability insurance with Cliverton, a company which has made a bit of a corner of the market in the area of small volunteer-run rescues. The problem with this is that when they decide to change the rules, it's very difficult to find anywhere else to turn.
