Popped down to Seaton today to see what damage the storms had done, and let the hounds hare about.

The beach cafe (the buildings in the foreground) was very closed, and the river that used to run past it across the beach has moved quite a distance east.( Photos... )

We took the hounds to Tregantle beach on Whitsand bay this morning, tempted onward by sunlight glinting along the edge of the coast under clouds that made me think of Payne's Grey ( Read more... )

My birthday on Monday was not the best day for photography as it was rather grey and drab.  But we had lunch at Louie's cafe on Kit Hill, then went down to Whitsand Bay with my new zoom lens anyway.   I wanted to experiment with putting the focus in different places by twiddling with the aperture settings.
