Found on a wall in a
church in Monte di Comino, above Verdasio, in
Ticino, Switzerland: ornate silver(?) frames titled "Ex ordine carmelit", "Ex ord. servorum marie". Two others above (not shown in this close-up) are titled "Ex ordine societ. Jesu" and "Epsicopi confesszzz" (unreadable). So: from the Carmelite Order, the Order of the Servants of Mary, the Order of Jesuits, and the congregation of bishops?
Within each one is a set of up to ten small coloured uncut stones, each labeled with the name of a different saint: "S. Angeli M." (Saint Angelus the Great?), "S Alberti G. [or C]", "S. Bertoldi", "S. Simeon Stocl[?]", "S. Joannis a Cr.", "S. Andre. Cors. E"
What are these, and what are they for? Perhaps someone more Catholic than me knows.
