More Boldthrough news ...

There is finally a new post in lj_biz. A few high points:

We accept all reports of potential child pornography that are reported to us, regardless of the source, but will only take action when that material violates our policies. That means we will accept reports even from people or groups that are annoying or have an axe to grind, but if content is not in violation of the policy, it won't have any effect.

LOL. Even if they're annoying, huh? DAMN, I was so hoping we could ignore the annoying ones!

They then go on to say that photographs, films, or videos that are considered to be child pornography have a zero tolerance rule, and the user will be suspended without warning and reported to the National Center For Missing and Exploited Children. That's fair, methinks.

Our process for drawings, cartoons, animation and othernon-photographic images is slightly different. An image of this type that obviously violates our policy will be treated the same as aphotographic image of child pornography, but in questionable cases involving a non-photographic image we will adopt a "two strikes"process. (Emphasis mine.)

I will hesitantly say that we seem to be making progress ...

Also, elaboration has been reinstated. You can read her post about it here. According to the letter she received from LJ:

... after extensive review of our policies we have come to the same conclusion as you have, as well as many of our site's members: that it was not fair to suspend your account without warning in this case, as the subjects depicted were fictional and the art itself was a drawing rather than a photograph, meaning that no actual children were harmed in the creation of this image. We have decided to alter this policy in the future so that warnings will be issued to those posting images thatare in violation of LiveJournal's standards for appropriate content. (Emphasis mine.)

HUZZAH. Finally, we get some REAL answers about their standards of suspension, their policies, and the actual suspension process.

I'm not going to say that I'm ready to forgive and forget, but I might not just flee as soon as Scribblit gets up and running ...
