omg, I'm MOVING next week?!
Yeah, so I'm freaking out a little bit about the move. Only a week between when I get off work and when I start school, and then I go to D*C the next weekend, so it'll be two full weeks before I can come home again if I forget anything. *sigh* BUT. KITTIES!!! I will have my kitties again, and I am SHO HAPPY!! \o/
If you have a paid/permanent account and have decided to discontinue paying for LJ services (or even if you have a free account and have decided that you will NEVER pay for LJ services) you should leave a comment at pay_no_more. The idea is similar to fandom_counts, except that here the headcount will represent ACTUAL REVENUE LOST by LJ.
ilyena_sylph linked to this really interesting article where a bunch of comic industry contributors were asked "Is Batman gay?" and gave their responses. The overwhelming response seems to be, "He's whatever you want him to be" ...although I think it truly speaks for the comic fandom that there weren't really any responses of "Ew, no! He likes WOMEN, duh!" (With the exception of Ray Tate, who doesn't actually count.)
I think this was probably my favorite response:
"No, of course not. When in "Batman" form, he is dedicated to the job in hand, romance doesn't enter into the equation. Maybe the correct question should be "Is Bruce Wayne gay?" whereupon you could come upwith a whole line of speculation relating to his continual use and abuse of women, his fondness for young boys, and his weird obsession with older men (Alfred, Jim Gordon)...all of which could be put together and give one of two readings: (a) he's gay; (b) he has a secret identity he's trying to hide." -Craig Lemon
