Lots to update
I haven't posted in a while. USually this happens when TOO much is going on that I dont have time or energy to just sit and write everything. Now its the middle of the night and I cant sleep so will try and start. Will break things up so not too much at once
1 - drs appointment; went relatively well. want to update more at a different point
2 - house stuff; met with grant people today and filled in the application. Mommy is going to get the last of her money to lend me next week. Everything by grant is ready to go, it will take a couple of weeks to process everything but otherwise it looks like we are in good shape. When telling the grant lady that people are pressuring us, she said 'look, you guys wanted the grant and SONYMA morgtage. both are a lot of extra paperwork and time. but that is good for you and what you should be doing -- you are the ones that will be paying the morgtage the next 30 years, not the seller!' i was glad to hear that she was kind of backing us up with all of this extra stuff. its true, if we werent trying for the cheaper morgrage or grant, we probably would have been ready to close already. Another good thing is that our house just makes the line out of the flood zone. That is really exciting cuz it will save us an extra $200 a month not having to pay flood insurance. Many houses in the frum community are within the flood zone.
3 - last night was Abba's 7th yahrtzeit. I lit a candle. Mommy put together a really nice siyum which my brother was misayem. We invited neighbor Rabbis to fill in the minyan and they spoke about Abba which was a really nice change and gave us extra inspiring things to think about and remember. Yahrtzeit is a bittersweet time, the family gets together and we think and talk about him. Sometimes I'm not in the mood to mourn and find it hard to 'get into that spirit'. The yahrtzeit seudah usually helps with that. will try to get to the cemetery later. i wish he could be here and see the nachas of married with kids. He would have loved DH.
speaking of DH, he just woke up and asked what i'm doing. let me sign off and try to go back to sleep
