I think someone has Mal/Simon. So maybe you can claim Jayne/Simon. Or Inara/Jayne...or just Inara and write all these from her point of view--or where she is the main character.

Because when you sign up, you sign up to do all 26.

So, your AU could be that Wash never died. Or that Jayne and Simon are a couple. Or that Jayne is the companion and Inara is the mercenary or some variation on the crew make up. You could invent a new character (female?) and pair them with Zoe if you want to make it post BDM.

Honestly, the possibilities are endless.

LOL! Well, I know that makes a whole 2 of you who are looking forward to these. I can't even tempt the creator of the damn team into writing more for them, so I guess it is up to me.

I dunno--maybe she isn't so happy with how her characters turned out in other people's fics; if so, she never mentioned it. I know she is still writing for SGA (McShep, Porne and Stackham), and two of those are WAY AU since so much is speculation. And there are a TON of people writing them too, so *shrug* I guess writers are fickle.

But, there will be at least 26 new fics for that comm within the coming months (ooh 27! as I just finished one and am waiting to post it).

I love that team too much to let them go.
