We found Xander at Cordelia's house. My whole purpose was to find him and make sure he wasn't going to do anything stupid. Instead, we find him on the floor with a bloody nose and Cordelia, missing. Xander told me, Angel had punched him and took Cordelia. It was a fact, that I didn't want to believe. I was starting to think Spike was a liar, until Xander told me it was Angel.
More like Angelus.
I took Xander from her room and we jumped off her balcony. Her parents were coming. Right now, they're probably wondering where she disappeared to. I immediately felt bad. What if we don't find her? What if we do find her and she's dead? We'll have two friends dead at the hands of Angelus.
This was too much. Slowly, he was breaking me down. I denied it to Spike and Xander, but I couldn't deny it to myself. I was breaking.
I tried to find out what happened, but Xander was a little disoriented and I didn't get much from him. Spike sensed Angel and we followed him. I asked him what Angelus would want with Cordelia. After all, we weren't the best of friends. But, we were friends. I also told him, I doubt they're anywhere near Crawford. Angelus is not stupid. He was always one step ahead of the game and that scared me.
"Since we are heading away from the bloody gray mansion, yeah, I'd say it's safe to assume that they aren't going to that bleeding place. Angel had picked up bloody shop. He is trying to sodding hide from you, so yeah, he won't be there. First two questions sort of intertwine, slaya. What do I think Angelus is going to do with Chase. She's quite fetching, slaya, use your imagination, and why would he take her away from Xander here, same bloody reason."
With that, I punched him dead in the jaw. That sparked a fight between me and Spike. I wasn't taking any more of his snarky comments, where my friends were concerned. He could have just told me, straight out and be honest about it. Instead, he wants to be a smartass so, I punched him. End of story.
"HEY! Do you want my help or not, slaya, we are going away from town, and his scent is still fresh. Want my help, or not?"
Spike punched me back, but I got him good with a high side kick. He fell to the ground. I wiped the blood off of my nose, waiting for him to get back up, so we can throw down, some more. I didn't answer his question. I just looked at him. We needed his help, but I wasn't about to beg.
"IF the two of you don't mind, wasting time isn't going to find Angelus or Cordelia."
I looked over at Xander with sad eyes. "You're right. This isn't going to solve anything. Spike, keep your smart remarks to yourself. Next time, I'm going to bring out the stake." I really, didn't mean it, deep down. For whatever reason, I couldn't bring myself to kill Spike. It was very weird. If he kept it up long enough, I don't think I'll have a problem. Spike didn't seem to scared or worried.
He got up, dusted his coat off and led on. We were heading outside of Sunnydale. "Why the hell are we leaving Sunnydale?" Spike stopped in his tracks. It was an abandoned house. A house me and Xander saw, before. It looked familiar, but I couldn't place it.
"Well?" I waited, patiently for Spike to give us the lowdown. "I'm ready to go in. We don't have all night to be standing out here, if he's in there with Cordelia."
