The Future of The Archives
We are down to our last month of hosting for both The Hex Files and HPFandom. I have always said that I would like to keep the archives active and available for everyone, but it's starting to wear on me.
I had been in talks with AO3 to transfer the archives to them, but in all honesty, I am one person and because the archives are in eFiction version 1, they just can't be automatically moved. It would require me hand entering each and every link for each story into their system. We are talking about over 8,000 stories. I would love to be able to move them, but it's just too much for me to even comprehend doing.
I could keep asking for funds, but I really dislike doing that, and I will not use ads. The logical conclusion for me is to let the archives go. I have enjoyed being here for the fandom, and I am so very thankful for everything that has been done for us over the years. Please know that I am very conflicted about this.
With that in mind, that gives you the readers, a months time to save what you want to save.
