Today's the big day you guys!!! I'm so excited. My friend Carmen and I are going to grab some lunch in a bit and attend a viewing of the inauguration in one of the soundstages here. Can't wait.
Last night Casey, Christine, Danielle and I volunteered at Give Kids The World, helping them with their weekly Safari Double Dare game. It was really fun. The game itself only lasted 1/2 hour, but our shift was 3 hours because we had to get debriefed, help set up, then we were sent to grab some dinner at their Gingerbread House restaurant (free yummy food from Perkins... next time I won't eat at home first!), we were given flyers to try and recruit families to come to the show (we let the girls go around doing that), and of course after the game there was clean up and everything. The game itself was very cool. They brought families on stage for various games, all of which ended in someone getting pied in the face. There were also water games, so it got pretty messy. Our job was mostly to give people towels and clean the stage between games. Christine and I thought it was a blast, but the girls weren't loving having to do so much cleaning, LOL. They were great though... we both wished we could see them be that helpful at home. We didn't get home until 9:30.
This morning I had a useless appointment with my allergist. They want to see me every 6 months just to make sure I'm doing okay, which I think is dumb. If I'm not doing okay I'll let them know. But my asthma inhaler was expired and in order to get a new refill (which is really important... I rarely need it, but when I do have an attack it's extremely important I have a working inhaler nearby) they made me come in. So I paid a $25 copay so I could sit there and tell the doctor I'm fine. GR. And then I got to work 2 hours late. And tomorrow I have to get that last cavity filled, so I'll be late then too. Bleh. At least today's staff meeting was canceled.
