Christmas Eve

Santa should be somewhere in the sky right now, on his way to bring me a new car, or a boyfriend or something. LOL

So, Christmas Eve has been nice. I left work at around 3, picked Casey up and we met my parents at church. For my own future reference, I want to note that we got there at 3:30 for 4 PM mass and that was plenty early enough. The place didn't fill up for a little while after that and there was never a time where people had to stand (I looked back at previous posts for a hint of how early I should be there this year, but I hadn't mentioned anything... so now I can remind myself for next year!).

Mass was okay, except for the lack of children. Not only was there no play (which they got rid of years ago and I'm still annoyed about it), there wasn't even a children's choir. Maybe they were going to do a different time this year. In fact, we didn't really have a choir at all... only about 3 people. But still, we sang carols and the priest quizzed kids about the story behind Christmas, so it was nice.

When we got home Casey convinced me to let us open one gift early. I let her open her Fred Figglehorn shirt and she was really excited. I opened the cookbook I'd already seen because she left it in my room, but I acted surprised. I'm excited to have it anyway. So then we changed into more comfortable clothes and went to my aunt's house. We had some delicious ham for dinner and exchanged a few gifts. My aunt gave me the same thing she gave me last year - a beef and cheese set. My cousin gave me a cute little Christmas box with cookies and a card with a picture of Hagen (his 7 yo son) on it). Casey got some awesome Abbey Dawn PJs that she loves (my mom helped my aunt pick that for her) and a matching flowery beach towel and picture frame ("Why do people always get me girly stuff? Don't they know me by now?" I happen to think the frame is lovely).

And now the stockings are stuffed (the dog is driving me nuts because she sees the bones I put in hers and is crying for them. I already cheated and gave her one. No more though! She has to be a good little girl and wait until Christmas morning) and I'm about to run off to bed. But first, some pics.

Casey looked so nice all dressed up for church (well, this is dressed up for her) I insisted that she let me take a picture of her by the tree. I took a full length shot, but she was making a weird face. This one is a lot better. Although even here, you can see she wants me to leave her alone.

My aunt had an old Polaroid she was letting Hagen run around taking pictures with. Someone snapped this of him and Casey watching TV together and it came out so nice, I scanned it and emailed it to myself.

My brother took this with his phone. It's pretty dark, but I love it because of how they are cuddled up. Hagen is super lovey like that.

And I took this one of Willow because I felt like it
