Holiday time in the office
We had some carolers come by and sing for us today. Wow, who knew we had so many great singers in Finance? I would love to participate next year, but I'm way too sick for singing right now.
And then my department had our potluck and gift exchange. Great food (especially the desserts! We drew for who brought what and I got ice. Easy) and after the chinese gift exchange I ended up with an Outback Steakhouse gift card for $10. I was lucky enough to draw #17 out of 18, so I almost got my pick out of everything. Now, with the movie ticket I got at the admin dinner Monday, I've got dinner and a movie! The Christmas ornaments, candles and trinkets that were being passed around are pretty, but I'd much rather have a night out. Once the insane coughing subsides and my schedule clears up a bit, anyway.
Oh, and tell me this - in the chinese gift exchange rules, you have to choose whether to steal someone else's gift or take a new one BEFORE opening one, right? It's the only way it makes sense. But half of the people today insisted you can open one first and then choose whether to keep it or not. Things got a bit heated until we sane people finally just gave in to the insane and did it their way. Oh well, LOL.
