With Casey gone this week, most of my usual shows are going to pile up on the DVR so I can wait to watch them with her. So now I have time to play catch up on some things she wouldn't care about (since she's kinda always there, they tend to pile up). So last night I watched:
-An episode of 30 Days where they sent a mormon lady who was opposed to gay adoption to live with two men and their 4 kids. She seemed like a really great, smart person actually. And although I completely disagree with her views on this (she didn't seem too keen on single parent households either, btw) and probably lots of other issues, I think she was really brave to do the show. She was thrown into this world full of people (this couple, their friends, and she even had to volunteer for gay advocacy groups) who knew from the start that their entire lifestyle went against everything she believed. They understandably went on the defensive, and she was confronted a lot. It must have been hard for her. I wonder if it would have been more effective if she had brought others with her, so it wasn't just her feeling alone and attacked by everyone else and being too focused on that to really sit and think about what they were saying. I wish she'd changed her mind by the end of her time there, but she didn't. I think her eyes were opened a little though. She acknowledged at least that this family in particular was extremely loving and good. She even wanted to remain friends with the gay couple, but one of them said no. He said the issue was too important to him. I don't blame him. How can you be friends with someone who wants to pass laws to destroy the thing you hold the most dear? Anyway, it was pretty interesting.
-The Cider House Rules: Yeah, I'm a little behind the 8 ball on that one. It was pretty good. Toby Maguire is teh awesome, and I also really liked Charlize Theron as Candy.
-Bounce: This is a movie with Ben Affleck where he switches plane tickets with a guy and then the plane goes down, leaving Gwyneth Paltrow a widow. So Ben feels guilty and goes to check on her, and hey what do you know, falls in love with her. So yeah, it's predictable, but nice too. I liked it. And I like Gwyneth with that darker hair. It brings out her eyes more. I don't really like Ben as a romantic lead though. Put his buddy Matt in there instead. Yummy. Now I want to watch Good Will Hunting again.

Last night Willow went into trouble mode and started scoping out the room for things to get into. She does that a lot. So she ended up jumping into the desk chair. First she stuck her nose in the wastebasket, pulled a receipt out, tossed it on the floor and then looked at me like "Yeah, I just did that. What you gonna do now, bitch?", LOL. I just laughed and went back to watching TV, so she started sniffing around on the desk shelf. After she threw a book on the floor and I continued to ignore her, she got tired and just decided to go to sleep there. I present to you, exhibit A.
Hee. Yes the color is weird. The picture was dark so I used auto correct. But whatever, it still makes me giggle.
