Now Casey's saying she doesn't think she did turn any of that math homework in, even the one she stayed up late to work on that's worth 100 points. That's like getting a zero on a test. SIGH. At least this morning she was actually worried about it and said she'd talk to her teacher about possibly making some of it up. This particular teacher has a reputation for being a real hard-ass though. Still, no matter how many times Casey tells me how tough and mean she is, I just remind her that SHE is the one who didn't turn her work in. At least she's got 4 or 5 weeks before her next report card to bring the grade up.
She's been complaining about really bad headaches almost daily lately. I assume it's related to her mysterious illness (she hasn't gotten sick again, but then that seems to mostly happen on the weekends, and maybe the Zantac is working). We did mention them to the doctor on Tuesday, but it seems like they have been getting worse. Casey swears that something is wrong with her and that's why she's been forgetting things so much lately. She said she's weak and can't focus and her head hurts all the time. I told her it was more likely just puberty making her forgetful, but the headaches do concern me. We have to go back to the doctor in a couple of weeks, so we'll talk to her about it then. In the meantime, liquid Mortin is her friend.
In about an hour, my department is heading to a local park for a BBQ/Kickball game against another department. It should be interesting. I'm actually playing, and I'm a tad nervous about it. But I think everyone is, and none of us is in the best shape. You know, accountans aren't really known for their great physical prowess (nor Admin Assistants like me!). I bet we'll have fun though. Our team all got Grinch T-shirts that say "Wicked" on them. I likey. As for the BBQ, it's a Friday of lent, so I'm not eating meat. I think I'll probably hit Taco Bell for a bean burrito on the way over and just eat sides. And then I'll work it off playing kickball. Wee. I hope it doesn't rain on us.
Other weekend plans - Tonight we're having dinner with the family because my cousin and her hubby are in town. Get this... they live in Hollywood, Florida, which is over 200 miles from here. And they are coming so my brother can cut Tommy's hair! WTF? It's not even like he does it for free, because he doesn't. They just like how he does it, and okay it's probably an excuse to visit the family. But they are only coming today and leaving tomorrow morning. How crazy are they? Still, it will be nice to see my bestest cousin Carlisa. She's 2 months younger than me, but her mom is actually my cousin. Carazy!
Tomorrow we are going to Mardi Gras at Universal to see Third Eye Blind perform. We're bringing 3 of Casey's friends, and we are also meeting up with Christine an Danielle,
freckles40, Ryan, Lidiana and Ryan's little sister (she's a tad older than Casey), and possibly April and Jeff. Should be fun. We're going over to Islands to ride some coasters first, then we'll head to the other park for the parade and concert.
Sunday we have church, though probably later than our usual 9 AM one, because I know we'll be home late on Saturday. Then Casey has a cookie booth from 4-6, and then we will be going straight to my parents' house for dinner and my brother will cut our hair while we're there. Then it's home to watch the Oscars. Yay Jon Stewart!
