Yesterday was a pretty busy day. Let's see if I can remember what we did...

We started the day off being a few minutes late for church because of Casey's slow ass. When she starts altar serving again that can't happen.

After church we went to Dennys for breakfast. Casey played the claw game thingy and actually managed to get one of the penguins from Surf's Up. WOO. Those things are almost impossible to win.

The plan was to get haircuts after breakfast, but when I called my brother he told me it was a bad day for it. They were short staffed and swamped. We're going to try again tomorrow.

So instead, we went and got a few groceries (very few since I have $8 in the bank and had to use my credit card... SIGH) and then headed home.

Casey spent most of the day working on cleaning her room. She's not done yet, probably because I was too nice and let her have too many breaks. But hey, I can see some of her floor, so that's progress. LOL

I managed to do all but 2 loads of laundry (one is in the dryer, the other is done and waiting to be put away), clean out the car, clean the upstairs bathroom, and Casey and I took Willow for a walk.

I would have gotten more accomplish if I hadn't spent 2 hours trying to figure out why our internet wasn't working. I thought something was wrong with the modem. So I tried everything I could think of before finally calling the cable company. Turns out, it was an outage in my area. That's good because it means there's nothing wrong with my hardware, but it totally sucks that I was such a dumbass and wasted all that time instead of just calling them in the first place. SIGH. I checked this morning and the internet was back up, so yay.

The outage was probably due to weather. We had a horrible storm yesterday. It lasted maybe 15 minutes, but it was like a tornado was coming through. Insane rain that seemed to be falling in several different directions, wind whipping the trees around, constant thunder and loud lightening. Casey was pretty freaked. She was like "I don't want to die. I want to start middle school next month!" LOL. I went out onto the porch to try and video tape the storm and she was yelling at me to get in the house. Probably a good idea. By the way, the internet went out a couple of hours before the storm, but maybe it was still related, since it was obviously on the way there. I don't know.

Big Brother last night - See, I knew Jen being HOH would make for some good TV this week. She's such a complete moron that it's fun to watch and laugh at her. I cannot believe that she felt the need to announce her presence when she went into a room where everyone was sleeping. She really does need to be the center of everyone's world. Which is why she was so freaked about Nick flirting with Daniele. I also can't believe she complained about the pictures in her HOH room. No wait, I can believe it. I actually wonder if they purposely put ones she wouldn't like in there so she'd have another breakdown over it. I wasn't the least bit surprised about her nominations. They were the first two names I said when she got HOH. And come on, was Dick TRYING to get nominated? Everything he said to her was true, but how stupid is he to get in her face like that while she's HOH? And you know, the way he talked to her, deserved or not, was basically verbal abuse, and it makes me wonder if that's what he's like as a dad. And maybe that has to do with his rift with Daniele. Who knows? Speaking of Daniele, now thats she's on week 2 of slop she's probably going to end up weighing negative pounds.

This morning Casey made me 20 minutes late for work. She was slow to begin with (I need to start dragging her out of bed earlier), and then I'm standing downstairs waiting for her, and she yells down that she can't find her soccer shorts. She had already gotten dressed and then remembered that today they are going to be playing sports at camp, so she wanted to wear them. So I go up there, dig through her closet and find them, hand them to her and go back down to wait. She comes down, we get in the car and I look at her and see that she changed her shirt, but is still wearing jeans. I pointed it out and she was like "Oh". OMG, what is wrong with the brains of pre-teens? They turn to mush, I'm telling you. So she gets to do her sports in jeans. Eh, maybe it will keep her from skinning her knees or something.

It's going to be a weird week for my work schedule. This afternoon I have to go pick Casey up from camp and take her to gymnastics, then come back to work for a couple of hours before leaving to pick her up when it's over at 6. I'm just going to take it as a late, long lunch break. My dad usually picks her up and takes her there, but today is my parents' anniversary and they have decided to go to Patrick AFB for the day. Not sure why, except that we lived there when I was little and it's by the beach, so I think they'll be doing some of that too. Anyway, my mom told me this yesterday. At first I forgot about gymnastics and didn't know what I was going to do with Casey for the afternoon. I had pretty much decided to let her stay home alone, but I was nervous about that. So yay for a nice long gymnastics practice.

Anyway, then tomorrow morning I have a research clinic appointment. I know I've gained a little weight since the last one, which is only natural because what I'd lost last month was only because I'd been sick, and you usually gain that back anyway. I didn't gain it all back, but since I didn't tell them I'd been sick (wanted to take credit for the weight loss), I don't have a good excuse for gaining some back. Oh well. I'll face the music like I always do.

And Wednesday afternoon, Casey has to get her second shot in the HPV series (that new one that prevents a virus that causes cervical cancer). She'll need one more in I think 6 months, and that will be it. So I have to pick her up from camp and take her to the doctor for that. She's not thrilled.

Okay, lots to do at work. Gotta get crackin'. Have a good Monday.
