The Other F Word
About this whole Greys Anatomy scandal. As a huge fan of the show, I feel like putting in my 2 cents. For those who haven't heard about it (and really, that's practically impossible), quick synopsis...
Back in October, Isaiah Washington (Burke) got pissed about something regarding TR Knight (George). Rumor had it that it was because TR was late, but on yesterday's Ellen he said that's not why. Anyway, somehow when he was ranting, he referred to TR as the fa... word. I hate that word so much I'm not typing it. This statement was made in front of the whole cast and crew, and basically outed TR (only a few people knew). So he called People magazine and outed himself. Then the other night at the Golden Globes, the cast was gathered in the press room and a reporter asked about it, and Isaiah jumped in front of everyone, grabbed the mic and said "I did not call TR a fa....". This hurt TR's feelings (since he lied AND used that word again) and pissed off others. It has been all anyone talks about anymore as far as entertainment news.
So, my opinion... as I said, that is a horrible word, and the fact that it slid off his tongue like he was talking about what he had for lunch that day, I think says something about him. The fact that he apparently lied says something else about him. So yeah, I'm pretty sure the guy is a douchebag. But I also think people are blowing things out of proportion just to sell some news. I don't necessarily think he should be fired, unless he's causing so much drama on the set that people can't perform their jobs properly. I do think he should apologize, to TR and to everyone else.
If I see one more freaking entry about this issue in the Greys LJ community I'm going to scream.
