It's been a hell of a week

Can I get in bed right now and pull the covers over my head until this week is over? Broken turn signals, traffic issues, missed appointments, butt injuries... sigh.

And then there was this morning!

Casey was supposed to have a 9 AM appointment with her counselor today. So we left 45 minutes ahead, thinking that would allow plenty of time. And then we got on the highway (I-4) and it was like a parking lot. I mean, just sitting there and moving a few inches here and there. When 9 AM came around, we weren't even halfway there. I don't know if it's always like that, but if it is, how can people go to work like that every day? I would lose my freaking mind. So I called the office to tell them we were running late, and the lady said "oh, but you aren't even in the computer". I was looking right at my appointment card, and it said March 9 at 9 AM, so I'm not crazy. They must have written it down but didn't put it in the computer. So even if we'd been on time, they would have turned us away. Thank goodness I called. It was annoying enough already, but if I'd driven all the way there in that traffic and been turned away because they screwed up, I would have freaked.

So they said they have an opening today at 1. I told them we'd take it. I have a test today at noon, so I called my professor and asked how long the test might take and if it was okay to bring Casey along. She said it varies from maybe 20-45 minutes, depending on the student, and yes I could bring Casey. I figure even if the test would normally take me too long, I'm not worried about my grade since I already got a B on that other one (highest grade sticks), so if I have to rush through it, I will. Then I'll take her to her appointment, then to school for the last 45 minutes, and then I go to work for like 2 1/2 hours.

So right then, I did a u-turn and got on I-4 west (much clearer) and headed home. I didn't make Casey go to school, since I would just have to turn around and pick her up an hour or so later.

She has another 9 AM appointment in two weeks, so I think we're going to have to leave at like 7:30. Then I'll try to make all the other appointments for non-rush hour times or find another route.

So yeah, this week our lives are like an episode of Seinfeld.
