Mad Men 4.12 "Blowing Smoke" Review
Another really good episode of “Mad Men” last night!!! :D At first it didn’t seem like the 2nd to last episode of the season and was really slowed pace, but things picked up quickly towards the end and we got some set up for the finale next week!!! :D
I really like that Don took out a whole ad in the paper telling everyone SCDP was done with cigarette companies!!! :D That was awesome!!! ;) In the long run if the agency recovers (and I think they will) this will be a good thing. I’m very anti-smoking and we all know the health risks and how it’ll be better that they cut ties now. ;) I really liked that scene were Peggy told Don she really liked the ad and the smiles they shared!!! :D I think he did get the idea a bit from what Peggy said to him earlier. ;) And Megan was really supportive too and it seemed like they really didn’t act too much about what happened last week. ;) I still wonder if Faye will find out, even more now since she doesn’t work there anymore. That was mean though with the pranks pulled on Don. :/ But pretty cool the American Health Association really did call SCDP and Don!!! :D I still think it would be awesome if they got the Heinz account. ;)
I still think Cooper will be back. Once things get better, and hopefully we’ll get some answers to where the company is going next week, Burt will be back. ;)
That was SO nice of Don to pay Pete’s portion of the lump sum!!! :D Pete seemed shocked, as was I, by it and really grateful too!!! :D Plus, glad to see Trudy is doing ok after having the baby. And I can’t tell if the baby’s name was Tammy or Pammy. LOL ;) It seriously could be both and I couldn’t tell. LOL
I just LOVE Sally!!! :D She has just become a breakout character this year!!! :D I agree with her therapist and that she is doing better. ;) I just think Betty just keeps finding fault sometimes and blows up. But I still think Glen is creepy. LOL ;) However, he didn’t seem that bad in this episode. But I feel bad for Sally with them probably moving out now. I do think they shouldn’t have stayed, but poor Sally. :( I do find her dream interesting that she was flying over London, England. ;) I just wonder what it means.
I’m VERY happy Lane is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D But I wasn’t expecting his wife and son to move to NY again. ;) That will be interesting seeing how that plays out and if Toni is still in the picture. ;)
Very interesting to see Midge again!!! :O We haven’t seen her since Season 1. ;) I do like her with her natural long hair. :) I wouldn’t have thought she would have gotten married either. But that is really sad to see she’s a heroin addict and using all her money for it.
Really hard to see all those people lose their jobs. Oddly reminds me of now and all the layoffs. But Danny needed to go. LOL ;) I’m still surprised they kept Stan and let Faye go.
John Slattery directed this episode too and he did a GREAT job again!!! :D I loved the comical way he directs this show and the scenes with the groups of 2 talking in their offices at the beginning and everyone reading the paper was awesome!!! :D
I can’t believe next week is the season finale!!! :O It’s been such a great season this year and I SO can’t wait to see how this season ends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D But then we won’t have “Mad Men” back till next summer. :(
