attn video game geeks:

occasionally, i like to play video games for 70 hours a day. my favorites have been baldur's gate and champions of norrath and their sequels. i prefer rpgs because, like many girls, i like wearing cool ass armor and crushing skeleton skulls with my flaming (and bejeweled) morning star.

tk has tons of video games but most of ( Read more... )

I watched my cousins play psychonauts a while back and it seemed pretty cool. I only saw part of it but what I saw I liked and the plot looked interesting and fun.

Dood! Silent Hill is CREAPY!! unless you don't know how to handle yourself in a 3D environment and only manage to make the character run around backwards in which case it's freakin' HALARIOUS

That is the end of the help I can offer. I like to watch people play video games but I suck hard core at dealing with moving my character around in 3D. Also I never made it past a super nintendo. Can I recomend Tetris? That is a game that never gets old.

hahaha!

1. i had psychonauts. i asked for for xmas a few years back becuase the main character's voice was also the voice of zim. richard horowitz i think? yes. i am THAT lame. i played the game for a while but didn't love it. FAIL.

2. tk has several 3d games and i CANNOT play them. i tried to play some star wars game and my clone trooper just ran backwards and in circles. tk delicately suggested i drop out of the game.

ha! garcia plays tetris all the time.

HOW ARE YOU??

The song was awesome! Wow.

I don't do video games due to flailing hands of uncoordination.

That the wedding has any kind of zombies is very cool. Usually, all I can look forward to is the liquor, and I normally don't drink.

I'm on a new anti-depressant and it seems to be working better than the last one that made me all hyper and borderline insane.

Glad you're feeling better!

i am quite uncoordinated as well. but i can't resist shooting fire at goblins. which is a life skill i'm sure will come in handy. *facepalm*

i'm so glad you liked the song! :D

how are you doing?

Sadly, I don't ever hit anything I try to shoot. I'd never pass my gun qualifications at BAU, even with Hotch's help.

And thanks, I'm doing well. Got the book to the editor, so crazy relieved over that, and the anti-depressants seem to be working. I hope you're doing better, too.

IMPORTANT QUESTION: did you just graduate? can i still send you something at the same address i've been using? i have the little item i made you for the gift meme and i'd like to send it your way.

ahaha, I wish I just graduated *sigh* I have another...five weeks of school. And then at least another three years. Same address as before might work, depending. if the item is much bigger than an envelope you'll need a name (our mail boxes are TINY, so they hold packages at the front desk). Let me know and I'll PM you if that's the case.

Let me talk to the guy about the Juxtapoz and get back to you later. He may be willing to give up some of his stash, but he needs sleep to think about it.

The guy will pull out some of his old Juxtapoze, probably next weekend. No problem in sending them on if you want them (don't know which he has, but they probably aren't terribly recent...was there something particular you were looking for?).

i don't care if they're old. i just like to use the art for my collage cards. i like to mix in victorian images for a weird effect. and i have no problem if hubby doesn't want to part with his mags.

i ordered a cheap used blab* and will cut that up as well.

how you feeling today?

*if you know what this is i will seriously build you a shrine.

jeez. they're already pre-empting harper's island. that doesn't bode well.

Husband doesn't mind parting with the Juxtapoz for art purposes. Something about them being re-used seems to settle well with him. We just have to figure out which place he put them when we repainted the living room. We'll do some exploration this weekend and send some out. No prob.

I had to look up Blab (damn, no shrine for me). Sounds very cool.

I'm feeling a bit sore from the exercises, but that's a good thing. Proper muscle responses FTW! But I am starting to panic about going to Colorado - I need to fix my mom's necklace so I can bring it back to her (can I actually fix it? I don't know any more).

Already pre-empting Harper's Island ?!?!?! That would be so wrong. And it would mean my tv guide from the newspaper is wrong once again. Sigh.

ok, first off. Monster hunter: I've seen it and it never looked quite interesting to me. Shadow of the Colossus is fun if you enjoy mind challenging boss battles one after another. It gets frustrating some times but it can be enjoyable. I've had no interest in Viewtiful Joe and Bully has been widely mentioned that it's too short and the story is lacking. Tomb Raider has been a big title but it always seemed to me that the only interesting quality it has is for men to watch a busty girl shoot things. Haunting Grounds on the other hand is very interesting. For a horror based game it's based on avoiding the scary things not trying to face them with the odds against you and sadly I haven't played Obscure. I own it but haven't played it. Games I would suggest based on what you've mentioned would be checking out some of the final fantasy games just due to the involved stories. Maybe try Silent Hill or one of the Fatal Frames. And if you are looking for something somewhat close to Tomb Raider, I would suggest God of War. Finally, if you want ( ... )

hi!

thank you so much for your thoughts. i really appreciate it. i rented lara croft over the weekend and it was super boring, boobs and all. right now i'm leaning toward a silent hill and shadow of the colossus.

i AM interested in shoveling off old games. i'll comment again when i get home for work and list them for you.

*waves*

p.s. your mom rocks. and so do you, sir.

Thank you very much for the compliment and my mom does rock.

Once you try Silent Hill (and if you enjoy it) I highly suggest Fatal Frame. Yet for starting Silent Hill, my suggestion is this: Play 3 only if you really intend to play 1, 2 is awesome, 4 is also awesome with an interesting ghost story to give the series something new, 5 (or Homecoming)is the first game that has been outsourced to the US and so far I personally don't like it. Yet if you do play Homecoming, I suggest you play 2 first to at least get some impact that the game holds.

If you are ever looking for good games, I'll be happy to suggest any more that I've played. I have a pretty large collection for most systems so I'm bound to have something that might interest you. Especially if you play any PC games.
