On Friday, before heading to HSBC Arena with Carly for Sabres Practice, I made a delicious egg white omelet with cheese, ham, spinach and banana peppers. Also had a slice of whole wheat toast with strawberry jam.
Then it was time for some hockey practice! This week has been a lot of fun specifically because I went ice skating for the first time since last season and hit up a Sabres practice for the first time, too. I LOVE HOCKEY.
We use to love sitting right at the glass, but we've found that by sitting above the glass allows you to hear some comical commentary from the players and coaches. While enjoying the crunch of the ice, I savored a Grande White Chocolate Mocha Latte from Starbucks. SO DELICIOUS. I make an effort to keep it somewhat healthy by choosing nonfat milk and no whip. It does help.
Afterwards, we hit up the Sabres Store and of course, I bought a new hat. I've got a thing for baseball caps and this one went to cancer research. It was twenty buck-a-roos.
Following the fun, it was time to work. My shift was from 1 to 9, so I grabbed some kettle corn and diet pop to hold me over until my dinner break.
To help stay on budget, I packed my lunch which included: ham & swiss on whole wheat, carrots with light ranch and two cookies.
It was a long day, but I made it through! Around 10:30PM, a bunch of us headed to the movie theater to see Paranormal Activity 2, which was a blast! I love scary movies.
We made it home around 2:30AM and I was hungryyy. I heated up a turkey dog on a wheat bun, some rice, slim jim and fun-size candy bars. I know, not good, but it's okay.
On to TODAY!
My Mom's birthday was on Thursday, so today I took her out. We went to our favorite spot in the city...
The Marina:
We spent a decent hour enjoying the sun, waves and view. By about 12:30PM, our tummies were ready for some foooood.
At Dug's Dive (also on the waterfront), we both got fresh haddock sandwiches, split a side order of sweet potato fries and stuffed banana peppers (filled with italian sausage, bread crumbs and cream cheese).
It was VERY good. I only took one picture though.
Before heading home, we stopped at the rink to get my skates sharpened (they were definitely in need).
Question, what do you do after pigging out on food?
Answer, you take a lovely nap!
That's just what we did! I only planned on sleeping for an hour or so, but of course, it ended up being a 3.5 hour nap :x
By the time I woke up, the game was on and dinner was made. While filling my belly with some homemade pizza and popcorn, the Sabres beat the Devils 6-1.
Sadly, I shall now start some homework...on a Saturday night. FAIL.
