So, trying to get back in the habit of APs. Will try to do some old ones too, see how far I get.
Last night was the second game of Changeling:The Lost(In Berlin)!
Players:
Me (Storyteller)
Fattig, (Fairest)
Silverpaw (Beast)
Steve (Darkling)
Alec (Elemental)
Cameron (Ogre)
Quick synopsis:
The group woke up in their very, very drab apartments and had some breakfast, provided by William, their landlord (A Changeling, from the Wizened seeming). He told them that they had a week to pay rent (one goblin fruit, each) and that they were being given happy meals. The Happy Meals had notes from the court the changeling belonged to, asking them to tithe one goblin fruit to their court as a show of dedication.
Initially, the group had no real idea what a goblin fruit was or how to find it. Eventually, they tracked William down at his club (which also happens to be the seat of whatever court is reigning) and convinced him to tell them how to acquire goblin fruit by trading an evening of the Darkling's labor for the information.
After that, the Motley headed to an abandoned US base and broke in. The inside was creepy and abandoned, but not entirely. They nearly blew up the base and themselves as they were exploring it. The Fairest found info about his parents (and fetch!) and the motley found some old bones and one messed up, pissed off ghost.
Then the motley took the night off so the Darkling could labor, and the next day they went into the Hedge!
They took a passage in the old, abandoned subway station, and came out of a long tunnel into blinding ice, and a cold, cold hedge. On the top of the hedge were 12 goblin fruits, dangling and swaying in the breeze. Also on the breeze was the hunting horn of a Fae, and the group knew they were under pressure. The Beast climbed the Hedge, the Fairest climbed as well to rescue a trapped Changeling, and the other three hung out, until the Beasts of the approaching Fae found them, and then a melee ensued. The Ogre nearly died, the Beast lept from the top of the hedge and shattered her leg, and the others barely managed to drag everyone out.
The session ended with them in the Winter Court Seneschal's parlor, having earned her hospitality by rescueing the changeling, who was winter court.
What Rocked
Best ghost I ever created. Deformed and angry as hell. Not sympathetic at ALL, which is awesome, cause most of my ghosts tend to be overly sympathetic.
Tempting the players to leave the path and stray into the hedge.
I think I got the creep factor down: Eerie lights, strange memories, the works. It's a stretch for me, as I normally focus more on gore, so it's fun!
Everyone had a lot of fun, tons of laughter.
Phone a Friend! I called seannittner in the middle of it cause I had a question and everyone thought it was hilarious.
What didn't
Not a lot to put here.
I wish I'd been a little more creepy in the hedge, but I think it was alright, shoulda added a few more creepy details, maybe.
