Volunteering?

I wasn't able to find a job this summer, so if I can't be making money, I want to at least do something worthwhile in Buffalo before I have to go back to Geneseo at the end of August.

Does anyone know of any volunteering opportunities or the like that I would be able to participate in sometime during the next month?

Or, as much as I doubt it's possible, does anyone know of any employment opportunities over the next month? Short labor gigs, nothing too heavy? As long as I'm asking about volunteering, I might as well ask about work...
