Ministry adventure, episode #7

Nov 25, 2005 15:41

There is a pile of boring, useless work here.
> do workBe more specific.
> do boring, useless work. You stupid game.I didn't understand "You stupid game". Maybe I'm too stupid.

You set to work on the uselessness. Seconds melt away into minutes, which turn to hours. Suddenly, you spot a dark figure out of the corner of your eye past Kathy's desk. When you turn to look, it is gone.
> nYou creep forward to see if you can spot the dark figure again, but see nothing. The door leading out into the hallway is swinging.
> nAs soon as you burst through the door, you are instantly chilled to the bone. In fact, the cold seems to be originating from your bones themselves and rubbing your arms together does not help. [Damage: 4] You see a dark blur vanish around the corner to the east.
> eYou continue following the dark shape, thinking ... well ... to be honest, I have no idea what you're thinking. I tried to give you a cue by damaging you but you seem to be too dense to realize that you're headed for MORTAL PERIL.

Having said that, the dark figure ducks into a doorway to the south, if you must know.
> sLook, I'm trying my best to help you, ok? All it says in my contract is that I have to give you a description of the environment; it doesn't say anything about inserting editorial comments. I'm doing that on my own, because I like you and don't want to see you get hurt. There is a door here - WOW there's also your desk to the north and around the corner, why don't you go that way?!
> open doorI'm relieved to tell you that the door is locked and the little slotted doodad next to the door has a light which is currently orange.
> invIn your pockets:
  • Credit card
  • Debit card
  • Phone card
  • Hammer

use phone card on doodad You swipe your phone card through the slot, but nothing happens.
use credit card on doodad You swipe your credit card through the slot, but nothing happens.
> use hammer on doodadYou turn the hammer sideways and slide the nail-removing end down the slot, and its light turns green to your (and my) surprise.

Before you proceed, maybe I should point out the sign on the door:
Room 213 - MORTAL PERIL
Please check in with receptionist
