I just won Pistons tickets from
97.1 The Ticket! It was a radio contest where they had a picture of Rasheed Wallace and you had to provide the caption. You can check it out
HERE. You really won't get the joke unless you're a regular listener to the show, but it's pretty sweet to see my name up there. I guess they got hundreds of entries. Their plan was to call up the winner after the show (so I wasn't on the air), but I didn't really expect to win. When my cell rang an unregistered number about 10 minutes after the show went off the air I was like Holy Shit! So, needless to say, I'm pretty pumped because I've been a huge Pistons mark since I was a young buck.
So, I'll send a shout-out to the station, 97.1 FM The Ticket, especially
Jay and Bill Mornings (who gave me the tix; I don't think they're Motor City Mornings anymore). It's local Detroit sports radio but the morning show isn't sports based. However, it's really good, very funny and a bit geeky (which is right up my alley). It streams over the net, so do like I do and stream that sumbitch while you're at work! Even the other shows, which are sports based, mix a good amount of regular programming, so you might get a kick out of it. So, check it out!! And huge thanks to Jay, Bill, Sarah, and the rest of the slapnuts on Motor City Mornings!
**P.S. In case you wonder what the joke means, when the station was moving locations everybody was told to sticky note their names on stuff they wanted moved over. The boss, Tom Bigby, put his name on everything including stupid crap like a box or paperclips, a rotary dial phone, etc. Or so the story goes. It's become a bit of a running gag on the show. Anyway, now you know fuckers.
