I went to church today with Jamie, Patty and Jason...I felt so out of place. I think the main reason people go to church isnt for the reasons people should go...when i was there, all i saw were little teenie bopper girls trying to pick up on dudes. but hey, to each their own right? Iv'e come to realize lately that all people are different and that ( Read more... )

well done brian. well done. Now, for my rebuttle lol...i never said the existence of god is false because there is no way possible to believe that. The universe is soooo massive and your right, there has to be an ultimate being of some sort to create this massive, complex universe. What im saying is that why does our view on god have to be so limited to one religion? First off, how can religion come from the bible when the bible never even uses the word religion. That word is not to be found. The word that it does use is, spiritual. So the idea of a relgion based around the bible is a falsehood of man. And as for your equation of -20 and 20, you have to factor in the thousands of other religions that exist. Granted, even the smallest chance is worth taking but if that was how you believed, wouldnt you take into account the Kuran or the Tao te Ching? Granted they all lead into one god, and maybe its not that you choose a religion but the fact that you believe because almost every religion on this planet does lead back to the original creator. So the question "does god exist?" the only answer i can say is of course he does but im not sure that it matters how your lead to him but that your are lead to him, through jesus, through mohammed, hell through buddha! To say one religion is wrong and that all the others will rot boggles my mind...sometimes, the person actually has no other way of finding out about christianity...so should he be punished and have his soul set for eternal suffering? If thats how it is, i feel pity for all those poor people who werent lucky enough to have heard the word of christians...

ok i really only have one last thing to say and im gonna try and keep it short. and yeah you nailed the biggest flaw in the infinite thing... if there are many gods then the calculations are flawed. there are counter arguments to this too but it doesnt really matter.

ok...

there is a major problem with believing in all the gods that other religions believe... or any a couple of the gods. the doctrins dont allow for this to take place. either you believe one way or another because if you believe in multiple ones then you are breaking gods law and are the same as someone that doesnt believe. therefore there is only one way out of this. you have to belive in a god of your creation. one that combines all the diff aspects of these religions into one. however this too is flawed because, man is flawed(and there is no possible way you can say we are not), so anytype of god that we wish to create will also be flawed and if god is supposed to absolutely perfect, it is impossible for man to do this.

soo, in our limited knowledge we turn to something that is older and wiser then we are. and so i turn to the bible. i belive that although parts can be inacurrate because and and all things that man creates is going to be flawed, i still believe that that is no reason to discredit it entirely.

why should i belive in the christian god rather then any other you ask? the answer is that noone can answer this question. it is up to each and every person to decide this for themselves and although the question on whether or not there is a god can argued logically and witht he knowledge that man has, the question of whether the christian god is right is above mans understanding. we just are simply wise enough to know and that is why it is based on faith. one must have the faith to belive in what can not be proven.

i put my faith in god as i know you once did too. i only pray that you once again find your way back to him.

lol... well that was longer then i expected it to be. i dont mean it sound like im passing judgemnt on you because im not. i have no right to and so all i can do is belive what im going to belive and you'll belive what your going to believe. ohhh welll... lol
