The amount of school work I still have to do just set in. I still have 2 full length novels to read and I still have to complete 1 research paper, 3 analytical papers, a short essay, and a seminar within the span of a month ( Read more... )

Well, that's a depressing post. It also gives me a chill down my spine...
Does your Mom buy you food at home or do you have to buy your own? Eating well is important. I'm usually here at the studio over lunch and into the evening most days so before I leave home I make a lunch for Jen and I. Its usually just a sandwich (today its a BLT, but other times Jen bakes red pepper and eggplant in the oven and fries some onions and mushroom-if you do a whole bunch you can just keep it in the fridge and it'll last you a few days. just slop together a sandwich in the morning before you leave.) I also crackers, a pear or banana, yoghurt and some chocolate. It might take a few minutes in the morning (or the evening before) but it saves a lot of money and satisfies the tummy. Are you still doing sit ups and stuff? You can work it into studying... study for a while then do 5 min of excercises.
Good luck w/ all the school work. I know you can do it cause you're the man cool guy.
About the whole being unrecognized thing...What I understand is you don't care about being a part of the conventional social structure and if that's what you want then that's totally fine. It may sound odd but have you ever considered becoming a monk? Not because I think that you're religious or anything but here in Italy there are many different types of monks (Kevin can fill you in b/c he was here for that class). Within the next month we're going to be going to Assisi to hang out w/ Franciscan monks there. Apparently we're going to have a meal and wine w/ them. In the past some students have stayed there for a number of days after. Being a monk isn't about worshipping God and stuff (as you know I'm not into God and all that stuff - i'm not suggesting that you become the pope or a priest or anything, however comical that may be...). Its been described to me as giving up worldly belongings and spending time in solitude in the 'gardens' at the monastry and then coming back together w/ everyone else for meals. I can't believe that I'm suggesting that you think about becoming a monk and I'm writing an issue of 'Men's Health' in your livejournal at the same time. Oh well, why not try adventurous things... Oh, and I think that you can definately write very well and if you find time b/n all your assignments it would be interesting to see what you can produce if you channel your thoughts, feelings etc. into characters in a novel. I'd buy it.
wow, that's quite a response.
Cheers, Kelsie
