Okay. TeniPuri fandom is a Big Place, and a good part of that fandom is Fan Dumb. It's the part of fandom that thinks Fuji is sadistic and evil when he's actually just got an... um, extreme brother complex and a mischevious personality, or that Atobe is some pure being who is completely understanding and giving. Unfortunately, Yukimura here tends to get the same sort of treatment.
From what I've seen, the Fan Dumb tend assume that Seiichi's gentle and friendly personality is fabricated to hide his "true" frightening and intimidating one. This really isn't the case. Konomi himself has stated that off the courts, Yukimura is a gentle person. I think the reason Yukimura's team adore and respect him so much is that while he's very serious about the game, he maintains true friendships amongst his team because he's genuinely a very nice boy. He's just really, really competitive.
There's also the fact that Yukimura holds a certain persuasion about him. He's generally not openly manipulative, but he attracts people and catches attention fairly easily. If he thinks it will be beneficial, he might try and bend someone's will. However, this would be a very rare occurrence! I think
this translation of his 40.5 fanbook profile is a good source to help understand him.
tl;dr = He's a complex sort of boy, and I'll struggle to hit every facet of his personality correctly! Keep in mind that I'm playing him from the manga and actually haven't watched the anime outside the OVAs, but I am taking Rikkai Retsuden as canon. I love this pretty kid and want to be able to play Yukimura to the best of my ability, so if you have any suggestions or critique for me, please leave a comment here!
