a black batman.
today during playground, one of my kids came up to me and this is the conversation that ensued:
Ayo: miss katherine, edward won't let me be robin!!!
Me: who's robin? you mean batman & robin?
Ayo: yes, he says i have to be batman, but i don't want to be!
Me: edward, why can't ayo be robin? let her be robin!
Edward: no, she HAS to be batman.
Me: why??
and here is the response i get:
Edward: because batman wears all black, and ayo is black, so she has to be batman!!!
my goodness. i'm starting to think racism starts at an early age, even when they don't know it.
EARRINGS?
yeah, so today, i don't know what got into me, but i felt like wearing some earrings that my mom got me. they dangle off the ears and are SOOO girly they make me sick.
so yeah, i'm only going to wear them on special occasions.
oh yeah, and the pearls that dangle are PINK. ugh.
