NO MORE HOLE
i've been realizing more and more recently how badly i am used to having that piece of glass in my arm. when i put my arms up on a table (like, to prop up my head) i automatically position my arm the way that i used to when the glass was still in there. like, kinda crookedly.
when i ate lunch today, i did the same thing, but then, my arm kinda lost it's balance and went towards the left (like when the skin that you're resting on moves?).
my arm automatically shot upwards as if it was afraid it would roll onto the glass!!! weird huh? haha. and then i realized the glass wasn't there anymore, so just for kicks, i rested my arm where the glass was.
it felt so weird.
NEED NEW ARMS
yeah, i really do need new arms. on saturday morning, my family was watching a funny chinese soap, and i fell out of my chair when i was laughing and my arm came out of the socket. HAHAA.
you gotta rewind the history of the random events of my life back to when i went to Mexico missions the first year with ACC (that was summer of 2000). now if you've already heard this story of how i first dislocated my arm, then skip ahead to the next story. if not, then read on...
we were eating our last LA lunch at In-N-Out, and when we were all getting back onto the bus, i was asked to go find some of the other kids still in the restaurant. as we were walking along the street, all of a sudden, a fellow guy counselor slapped my butt. (i'm not gonna name his name).
so i was like, WHAT?!?! and i turned around and was about to punch him in the arm with my right side. he was walking on my left side, so when i reached my right arm across my body to punch him, my arm came out of it's socket!!!!! AAAAUHGUHGUHG!!!
it felt so gross. i was literally holding my right arm with my left arm. i don't know if that's imaginable. i didnt' know what to do, so i just slowly put my armdown to the side, and then it just popped back into the socket. and when that happened, oh man...PAIN. so much pain. :(
...and ever since then, my right arm comes out of it's socket really easy. hahaha. sad story, don't you think?
i need a new right arm. and perhaps a left one too cuz i think i've dislocated it before too. haha.
IS CHIVALRY REALLY DEAD?
is it? i was thinking about this the other day b/c on my way into my BR store, a guy opened the door for me. of course, me being used to doing everything myself, i waited for him to go in first, since he got there first. but when he didn't go in, we had the "you go ahead, no you go ahead, blah blah blah" that thing.
finally, i just opened the other side of the door and walked myself in. hahaa.
i know most girls like it when guys have gentlemanly gestures, but at the same time, are we that lazy that we can't open our own store doors? or open car doors? or hold our own stuff???
i like to carry my own stuff. (especially when i know i'm able to lift it.) if i need help, i'll ask for it, but i usually don't like asking people for help. that's just how i am. but i can't stand it when i see a girl who can carry something on her own, but she'll ask for help like she's a helpless dame. (i mean seriously, we're not living in medieval times, and you don't need to be rescued from a heavy box or an overhead.)
i think probably the only chivalrous action that i am truly impressed by are the ones that we rarely see anymore. i can't think of many right now, but twice before in my life, i was really impressed when a guy/man made it a point to walk on the outside of me on the street or a parking lot (so i won't get run over by a car? haha. trust me, i've been walking by myself for 23 years now, and i have yet to be struck by one).
i'll just tell you right now, the two people that did that were my dad and one of my lil bros. and what i liked was the fact that they didn't make it really obvious. more like we were just walking and talking and all of a sudden, he just slowed down and went to the other side of me. how sweet.
so anyway, i dont' know what my point was in this last section...as always, i am just rambling about things i thought about today, and now i'm writing it out. i guess my conclusion is this:
i am no dainty waify girl.
i'm pretty independent.
i can hold my own doors.
hooray for me.
(so what are your thoughts on this? peylin! there's a question for you! hahaa.)
DO THEY KNOW THAT WE KNOW THEY KNOW?
i just remembered that line from that episode of Friends. haha. anyway, this past week, i heard TWICE from two different girls at two different times that "guys always know when a girl likes him."
what do you think? i mean, my first response when each girl said that to me was that whoever that guy is must be really cocky. cuz wow...why would you just think that unless you were big-headed and egotistical? hahaa.
i'm sure i'm missing some points in here somewhere, but oh well. after chewing on that statement for a while, i figured it's gotta be different with every guy (or at least hopefully, cuz i'd hate to think all the guys i know are egomaniacs!).
what are your thoughts? (again, you don't have to write them here...just some things for YOU to ponder about in your bored free time.) hahaha.
go confuse yourself. :)
THE FLINTSTONES
today for a movie, my class watched the Flintstones Movie. you know what i realized?? two different things in the theme song.
1) when fred drives his "car", it has two huge rolling pins as wheels. one in the front and one in the back. they can roll forwards and backwards, but HOW does he turn sideways?? and WHAT is the use of the steering wheel that he uses if he can't turn???
explain it, please. i am very much curious.
2) when the theme song is going, it shows fred flinstone leaving work. he pauses by the dinosaur that's the "time clock" and it's teeth punch holes as the time in/time out punchcard.
umm...the dinosaur only has four teeth, so how do you know what time it is?? (sorry, no photo to refresh your memory of it...)
more random stuff for you to ponder :) haha.
random stuff
- sooo hungry right now
- lots to do. hooray.
- i bought a light blue umbrella today. it says it has a "windproof frame" so it won't flip inside out. i want to test it out to make sure, but i don't know where i can find such a strong gust of wind other than waiting for God to blow it through.
- my toes are still numb from when i wore those terrible shoes on friday. i wonder when they will un-numb?
- average joe tonight is going to be GOOD.
