road trip day 5
today feis and i completed our 2,800-mile, 12-state (for me; for him it was 3,700 miles through 14 states) journey to pittsburgh. both of our persons, the one car and three bikes, and nearly all of our possessions* made it home safe. we left st. louis this morning (too early to stop for barbecue) and mercilessly gunned down the last 600 miles, arriving in pittsburgh just too late for the kgb scavhunt.
*modulo a few of my chocolate bars and jack's packs of gummy worms, all of which succumbed tragically to the combined thermal efforts of nevada, arizona, and utah.
now i have a bunch of unpacking that i will not forgive myself for procrastinating past this weekend.
we ate dinner at fuddle and then i walked back to my new (ivan's) house. pittsburgh has welcomed me with open arms. it is good to be home.
